Quarteto Parnaso to perform in Águeda

The Centro de Artes de Águeda will host the performance “Da Saudade à Liberdade” on October 27 at 9:00 PM. The show features Quarteto Parnaso and narrator Estefânia Surreira as part of the “Concertos de Bolso” cycle within the Autumn Festivals.

The performance is an expansion of the “Cinco Zecas” project, which focuses on the work of José Afonso, a prominent figure in Portuguese music. The repertoire extends beyond Afonso to include works by Carlos Paredes, Madredeus, Ferrer Trindade, and Armandinho. The concert utilizes guitar quartet arrangements paired with poetic narration to explore themes of memory, emotion, and Portuguese cultural identity.
