Quarto worker death: two under investigation for manslaughter
The Naples Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of Salvatore Russo, a 54-year-old worker from Pozzuoli who died on June 30 after being electrocuted by an exposed cable while working in a garden in Quarto.
Two individuals have been placed under investigation for manslaughter. Prosecutor Mario Canale is overseeing the case, which aims to determine if the fatality could have been prevented. To clarify the circumstances, the prosecution has ordered technical assessments to begin on September 23. These experts will examine the electrical system to verify its compliance with current laws, check for the presence and functionality of life-saving devices, and evaluate whether appropriate safety measures were implemented for the specific type of work being performed.
