Quartu Sant’Elena hosts international music festivals
Quartu Sant’Elena is hosting two distinct musical events. The Arenas – Mediterranean Jazz Lab, an international musical training project directed by guitarist Bebo Ferra, concludes its first edition with a final concert at The Old Tipsy on October 24. The workshop brought together musicians for five days of study in jazz, improvisation, and Mediterranean musical cultures, featuring instruction from international teachers including Roberto Taufic, Salvatore Maiore, Daniela Spalletta, Fabrizio Cassol, Diogo Q. Alexandre, and Noé Clerc.
Simultaneously, the “Aurea Musica” international festival of music and beauty begins, running from October 24 to November 8. Held in various historic churches, the festival includes concerts, masterclasses, and workshops. The program features cellist Andrea Pettinau performing Bach suites at the Church of Sant’Efisio, a flute and guitar duo featuring Roberto Cilona and Massimo Aureli, and a performance by launeddas master Luigi Lai at the Church of Nostra Signora del Buon Cammino, where Lai will receive a lifetime achievement award.
