Quartz raises 3.2 million euros for AI-driven private banking
Fintech startup Quartz has secured 3.2 million euros (approximately 2.75 million pounds) in a pre-seed funding round to develop an AI-driven personal banking platform. The funding round was led by the French venture capital firm Daphni, with participation from Outward VC, Kfund, and private investors including Kantox founder Philippe Gelis and former N26 and Kraken CPO Gilles BianRosa.
Founded by former Revolut and N26 executives André Silva and Mateus Mesquita Alves, Quartz aims to democratize private banking experiences through its AI assistant, Charlie. The platform uses proprietary connectors to aggregate various financial assets, such as pension plans, savings accounts, and investments, into a single interface. This allows users to interact with their wealth through contextualized questions and real-time market updates.
The company has officially launched its platform in the United Kingdom and is registered with the FCA as an Account Information Service Provider (AISP). While it does not currently provide regulated investment advice, the firm intends to expand its regulatory scope to include advisory services in the future. The team operates across London, Porto, and Barcelona.
