Québec Cinéma launches Ciné Panache educational platform

Québec Cinéma has launched Ciné Panache, a new initiative designed to integrate Quebecois cinema into the province's educational system. Hosted on the Télé-Québec en classe platform, the service provides free access to a curated selection of films for students ranging from primary school to the postsecondary level.

The current collection includes approximately 30 feature films, such as ‘Léolo’, ‘Monsieur Lazhar’, and ‘Incendies’. Each film is accompanied by pedagogical tools and educational guides designed to facilitate classroom discussions on film analysis, social issues, and historical contexts. The project aims to expand to 100 films within two years, with 20 additional titles expected by January.

Developed by Québec Cinéma in partnership with Mediafilm and the Association des cinémas parallèles du Québec, the initiative is financially supported by the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC). The platform is free of charge and contains no advertising to encourage widespread adoption by educational institutions across all regions of Quebec.
