Québec Solidaire candidates announce provincial election priorities

Québec Solidaire candidates Rabah Moulla and Raphaël Bédard have outlined their platforms ahead of the 2026 provincial elections.

In the Chomedey riding, Rabah Moulla, an engineer and teacher, is campaigning on issues of political representation for immigrant populations. He noted that while immigrants make up approximately 13% of the Quebec population, they hold only 9% of roles in public organizations and media. His platform includes social measures such as dental insurance, free schooling, a $15/hour minimum wage, and a proposal to reserve 25% of public sector positions for visible minorities to achieve equitable representation.

In Bellechasse, Raphaël Bédard is focusing his campaign on environmental concerns and public services. He has expressed opposition to certain wind energy projects and is advocating for the burial of the future Appalaches–Bas-Saint-Laurent high-voltage line to protect agriculture and local landscapes. Bédard also aims to improve access to public transit and increase regional power for municipalities.
