Quebec and Canadian officials hold meetings on economic development

Political activity in Quebec is marked by several high-level visits and meetings focused on economic development and regional issues. In Saguenay, Mayor Luc Boivin is coordinating discussions regarding infrastructure and economic growth. Federal Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne is scheduled to visit Saguenay City Hall to advance local dossiers. Other upcoming federal meetings in the region are expected to include Defense Minister David McGuinty and Industry Minister Mélanie Joly.

In Montreal, Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette is scheduled to participate in a roundtable with major economic actors. She will be accompanied by several provincial ministers, including Eric Girard (Finance) and Bernard Drainville (Economy, Innovation, and Energy).

Additionally, Health Minister Marjorie Michel recently visited Moisson Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Despite questions regarding the timing of the visit during a local by-election campaign, Michel stated the visit had been planned since May and was intended to be apolitical.
