Quebec charity events raise funds for community support

Two regional charity events in Quebec have successfully raised significant funds for local social causes.

The third edition of Oktoberfest St-Pancrace, held at the Place de la Biosphère in Baie-Comeau, raised $16,500 for Centraide Côte-Nord. The event featured Bavarian-themed festivities, live music from DJ Slater and Matiu, and the launch of an official event beer. Organizers confirmed the festival will return for a fourth edition in 2027.

Additionally, the 22nd annual ‘5 à Huîtres’ hosted by the Fondation Jeunesse du Bas-Saint-Laurent raised $36,500 at the Institut maritime du Québec. The event, which featured culinary expertise from several local chefs, supports youth services provided by the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse and Santé Québec Bas-Saint-Laurent. Since its inception, the ‘5 à Huîtres’ initiative has raised nearly $400,000.
