Quebec couple finds forgotten 466,000 euro lottery ticket

A couple in Quebec, Canada, discovered a forgotten lottery ticket worth approximately 466,000 euros nearly a year after its drawing. Nicole Renaud and Roger Laroque had purchased the ticket on Valentine's Day 2018 for a drawing held on April 5, 2018.

The ticket had been accidentally tucked inside a book and forgotten. The discovery occurred when the couple's grandson needed a book about Japan for a school project. While searching for the book, Renaud found the ticket between the pages.

Upon checking the numbers, the couple realized they had won, but quickly discovered they were facing a strict deadline. According to Loto-Québec regulations, major prizes must be claimed within 365 days. The couple had only seven days remaining to redeem the prize before it would expire.
