Quebec destinations offer scenic autumn foliage and hiking

Quebec offers various destinations for autumn foliage viewing and outdoor activities. Near Montreal, the Eastern Townships feature locations such as Sutton, a mountain village offering hiking, mountain biking, and a fall festival through October 18. North Hatley, situated at the tip of Lake Massawippi, is also noted for its scenic views and fall colors.

Approximately 50 kilometers from Quebec City, the Cap-Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve provides roughly 20 kilometers of hiking trails through forests, marshes, and plains. The reserve features wooden walkways and observation towers, with trail difficulties ranging from easy to challenging. Notable routes include Les Chutes, La Falaise, and La Cime, which offer views of the Saint Lawrence River. Due to landslide risks, a detour has been established for certain sections of the La Falaise trail.
