Quebec launches road safety campaigns and enforcement operations

Authorities and safety organizations in Quebec are launching initiatives to improve road safety and driver awareness. CAA-Québec and the Association des professionnels du dépannage du Québec (APDQ) have introduced a campaign focused on the importance of the safety corridor for tow trucks. The campaign urges motorists to slow down, move away from immobilized vehicles, and change lanes when safe to protect tow truck operators from life-threatening risks.

Simultaneously, Quebec police services, in collaboration with the Association des directeurs de police du Québec (ADPQ), the Sherbrooke Police Service, and the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), are intensifying road interventions from October 16 to 22, 2026. Under the theme ‘We are all responsible for our driving,’ this operation aims to promote safe coexistence between motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, and users of personal motorized transport devices. Special attention will be given to school zones and school transportation to protect vulnerable children.
