Quebec Ministry Completes Saint‑Georges Bridge Asphalt, Resumes Work in Saint‑Ulric

The Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTQ) announced the completion of asphalt resurfacing on the David‑Roy bridge and the 118th Street stretch in Saint‑Georges. Minister of Municipal Affairs Samuel Poulin said the night‑time work replaced temporary fixes and was funded through the province’s asset‑maintenance program.

The ministry also confirmed that paving will resume on both sides of Avenue Ulric‑Tessier in Saint‑Ulric from 6 August to early September. Traffic will alternate from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays for the four‑week project. Municipal director Isabelle Dion welcomed the decision, noting continued concerns over the engineers’ strike. Local deputy Pascal Bérubé was also involved in discussions with the MTQ.

Both projects aim to improve road safety and durability in the affected Quebec communities.
