Quebec Religious Heritage Days to expand across Canada in 2026
The Conseil du patrimoine religieux du Québec has announced the programming for the 9th edition of the Religious Heritage Days, scheduled for September 11, 12, and 13, 2026. The event will feature 142 heritage sites and circuits across more than 90 municipalities, ranging from the Abitibi forests to the shores of the Magdalen Islands.
This edition marks a significant expansion as sites located outside of Quebec will participate for the first time, initiating a pan-Canadian movement intended to grow in future years. The program includes guided tours of cemeteries, gardens, historical sites, and other points of interest, organized through collaborations between religious, cultural, municipal, and community professionals.
While the activities are free to the public, visitors are encouraged to make donations to support the preservation of these sites. The event is supported by public generosity and provincial deputies to ensure accessibility despite challenging financial contexts.
