Quebec senior baseball: Saint-Fred and CIEL FM secure playoff victories

In Quebec senior baseball, recent playoff games have seen significant developments in both the LBSVF and Puribec leagues.

In the LBSVF semifinals, Saint-Fred took a 1-0 lead in their best-of-five series against the Marlins with a 4-0 victory. Starting pitcher Jonathan Cardin delivered a strong performance, pitching five innings and allowing only one hit and two walks. Relievers Xavier Simoneau and Nathan Petit-Fréchette completed the shutout. Christopher Goulet was named player of the game for his defensive work at second base.

In the Puribec League finals, CIEL FM of Rivière-du-Loup tied their series 2-2 against the Industries Desjardins du Kamouraska following a 4-3 win in eight innings. Juan Borras pitched all eight innings for the victory, recording ten strikeouts. The winning run was scored in the final inning on a single by Yannick Michaud. The series will move to a sixth game following the upcoming scheduled matchups.
