Quebec universities launch platform for Indigenous cultural relevance in education
A new web platform has been developed to integrate Indigenous knowledge, realities, and perspectives into postsecondary education and professional practices. Created through a collaboration between the universities UQTR, UQAC, and UQAT, alongside Boîte Rouge VIF and First Nations partners, the tool is designed to support training in fields such as teaching, social work, and psychoeducation.
The platform provides resources to help educators, program managers, and service providers evaluate and strengthen the cultural relevance of their curricula. It aims to assist professionals in better supporting Indigenous students and families, while also serving as a reference for Indigenous professionals wishing to transmit their language, culture, and learning methods within their practice.
A webinar scheduled for October 14, 2026, will present this innovative tool, discussing its development, practical applications in Quebec institutions, and future plans for large-scale deployment across Canada.
