Queen Camilla backs new Future Journalism Awards for young reporters

The Queen Camilla Future of Journalism Awards have been launched to support journalists aged 18 to 30. Run by the Journalists' Charity with Camilla as patron, the scheme will award 25 winners each year a cash prize of up to £2,500 for training, equipment, travel or accommodation, together with mentoring and a ceremony invitation.

James Brindle, chief executive of the Journalists' Charity, said the awards will “unlock opportunities for many younger journalists nationwide” and make a real difference to their careers. Applications are open throughout August, with winners to be announced in September. The charity, founded by Charles Dickens in 1864, supports journalists across the UK and Ireland and received a Royal Charter from Queen Victoria in 1890.
