Queen Camilla intervenes during Order of the Garter service
During the 2019 Order of the Garter service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, Queen Camilla reportedly intervened to redirect the attention of the Princess of Wales and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
As the procession took place, the Princess of Wales, then the Duchess of Cambridge, and Queen Máxima became engaged in conversation, nearly missing a significant portion of the ceremony. To rectify the situation, Queen Camilla tapped Queen Máxima on the shoulder to remind the pair to face forward as the parade passed.
The event, which included other royals such as Queen Letizia of Spain, serves to recognize contributions to public service. The Order of the Garter is a limited membership of 24 individuals, led by the reigning monarch.
