Queen celebrates 50th anniversary of A Day at the Races with new vinyl editions

Sony Music Entertainment has announced two new special vinyl editions of Queen's fifth studio album, ‘A Day at the Races’, to commemorate its upcoming 50th anniversary. Scheduled for release on December 11, the editions include a blue marbled vinyl and an exclusive picture disc available through the Sony Music Store.

Originally released on December 10, 1976, the album features iconic tracks such as ‘Somebody To Love’ and ‘Tie Your Mother Down’. It was the band's first entirely self-produced work and served as a natural successor to ‘A Night at the Opera’, sharing a title inspired by a Marx Brothers film. The album achieved significant commercial success, reaching number one on the UK charts and number five in the United States, where it eventually earned Platinum certification.

In addition to the album reissues, the band is releasing ‘Queen Budapest’ on October 30 in various formats. This release documents their July 1986 concert in Hungary and includes hits such as ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘We Are The Champions’, and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
