Queen Elizabeth II’s hairstyling routine revealed by former hairdresser
Scottish hairdresser Ian Carmichael has shared insights into the hairstyling routines of Queen Elizabeth II, noting the high level of trust required for such intimate work. The Queen maintained a consistent, carefully styled short hairstyle for decades, rarely opting for significant changes to ensure reliability during her demanding schedule of official events and meetings.
Carmichael described the process as traditional, involving washing the hair and using rollers to shape the locks. Occasionally, a silvery tint was applied to add light to the hair. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when access to the palace was restricted, the Queen’s close aide and chief dresser, Angela Kelly, took over the responsibility of washing and styling the royal's hair weekly.
