Queen Letizia uses fashion diplomacy during Macron state visit
During the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, to Spain, Queen Letizia utilized fashion to reflect the diplomatic context of the meetings in Madrid.
For the gala dinner hosted by the Spanish monarchs at the Royal Palace, the Queen wore a cloudy blue crepe gown from the Carolina Herrera autumn 2026 collection. The dress, which featured a semi-transparent floral bodice and cape-effect sleeves, was provided on loan by the brand. Carolina Herrera is a global luxury brand owned by the Spanish group Puig.
To conclude the visit during the farewell reception at the French Ambassador's residence, Queen Letizia selected a midnight blue satin midi dress from the Parisian brand Sandro. The sleeveless design featured a fluid silhouette and a teardrop-shaped neckline embellished with strass applications, creating a jewel effect.
