Queen Margaret’s School near York sold to Escrick Holdings Ltd
Queen Margaret’s School, a Grade II* listed former private girls' school near York, has been sold following its closure last July. The 39-acre site, which includes a country house, classrooms, dormitories, and various sports facilities, was listed for £5 million.
Escrick Holdings Ltd, a Bradford-based company specializing in property management and development, purchased the freehold property. While the sale price remains undisclosed, the site may be repurposed for residential, leisure, or care uses, subject to planning consents, though the possibility of returning the site to educational use was also explored.
