Queen Mary of Denmark resumes duties and tributes late King Harald V

Queen Mary of Denmark has resumed her official duties following a period of mourning for several individuals close to the Danish Royal House. During her recent engagements, she visited the construction site of the future Mary Elizabeths Hospital, a facility dedicated to children, youth, and pregnant women scheduled to open in 2027.

Additionally, speaking at the Dansk Erhvervs Årsdag 2026, hosted by the Danish Chamber of Commerce, the Queen paid a heartfelt tribute to the late King Harald V of Norway. Referring to him as ‘Uncle Harald,’ she reflected on his kindness and thoughtfulness, noting the warmth he showed her when she first began her royal career as Crown Princess.

Queen Mary expressed her condolences and full support to the newly ascended King Haakon VIII and Queen Mette-Marit of Norway during this period of transition for the Norwegian monarchy.
