Queen members consider avatar technology for future shows

Members of the rock band Queen are exploring the possibility of using advanced avatar technology to create new types of live performances. Drummer Roger Taylor revealed that he and guitarist Brian May have been discussing the potential for digital shows, potentially inspired by the ABBA Voyage concert series.

While Taylor noted that the late Freddie Mercury could never be replaced, he acknowledged that modern technology has advanced significantly since the debut of ABBA’s digital show, suggesting that more immersive experiences are now possible. Brian May has expressed strong interest in the concept, noting that the idea of recreating the original lineup—including Mercury and John Deacon—in a digital format appeals to him. May suggested that rather than simply using archival footage, the band could use new technology to create a modern version of Queen for future generations.
