Queen Máxima attends healthcare symposium in Nieuwegein

Queen Máxima attended a symposium in Nieuwegein on September 10 focused on the ‘Less is More’ movement. The event was organized by the national Care Evaluation and Appropriate Use (ZE&GG) program.

The movement aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare in the Netherlands by reducing medical practices and treatments that offer little to no added value for patients. During the visit, the Queen participated in a ‘Vraag-maar-raak’ market to exchange expertise with healthcare professionals and engaged in discussions regarding the societal impact of various initiatives.

Key topics of discussion included lab diagnostics, follow-up controls, and the reduction of unnecessary hospital admissions and interventions. The Queen also attended an interactive workshop focused on implementing healthcare innovations and strategic changes in practice.
