Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden launches sensory tourism initiative

The Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, has launched the ‘Scent of Queen Sirikit Botanical Trails’ event. Presided over by Chiang Mai Deputy Governor Boonlue Thamtharanurak, the initiative commemorates the nine royal visits made by Queen Sirikit to the botanical gardens.

The event introduces ‘BotaniGar’, a signature perfume brand designed to elevate experiential nature tourism through multi-sensory engagement. The collection features three distinct scents: ‘Green Misty’ (representing cool beginnings), ‘Golden Bloom’ (inspired by Thai orchids), and ‘After Glow’ (inspired by pine forests).

Participants engaged in historical tram tours following the royal paths and observed a moment of silence to honor the Queen and Princess Bajrakitiyabha. The launch included a fashion show to showcase the new fragrance collection, aiming to integrate botanical history with the science of scent to promote sustainable tourism.
