Queen Sonja of Norway inaugurates art exhibition in Málaga

Queen Sonja of Norway traveled to Málaga, Spain, on Thursday, October 29, to inaugurate a joint exhibition at the Picasso Museum featuring works by Edvard Munch and Pablo Picasso. The exhibition includes more than 100 pieces, creating a dialogue between the Norwegian and Spanish masters.

The visit was marked by a somber tone following a fatal train accident near Toledo that resulted in 69 deaths. During her opening speech, the Queen expressed her deepest condolences to the victims and their families. A minute of silence was observed, and a previously planned celebratory dinner was canceled in observance of the national mourning in Spain.
