Queen Sonja to proceed with royal duties as King Harald remains hospitalized

Queen Sonja of Norway is set to proceed with a scheduled provincial visit to Trøndelag from August 31 to September 3, 2026, despite King Harald V remaining hospitalized at Oslo's Rikshospitalet. The Norwegian court confirmed that while the King will not participate due to health concerns following corticosteroid treatment, the Queen will carry out the visit as planned.

In Denmark, King Frederik X and Queen Mary attended the wedding of Gregers Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, the King's godson, to Cecilie Juhl. The ceremony took place on Saturday, August 22, at Kværndrup Church on the island of Funen.
