Queens intersection sees repeat street takeover by motorcyclists

A group of motorcyclists conducted a street takeover at a busy intersection in Middle Village, Queens, on a Friday night. The incident occurred near 69th Street and Eliot Avenue, where riders revved engines and burned rubber near a Mobil gas station, creating clouds of smoke as motorists and a city bus passed through the area.

City Councilman Phil Wong reported that the 104th Precinct responded to the scene, noting that officers observed the group leaving. This location has become a recurring site for illegal gatherings; in April, more than 100 vehicles participated in a similar takeover at the same intersection. During that April incident, 22-year-old Asil Assaidi was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, riot, and criminal mischief.

Similar disruptive meet-ups have been reported across New York City, including an incident in the Bronx in May and a violent gathering in Malba, Queens, last November.
