Queens of the Stone Age release new single ‘Insignificant Other’
Queens of the Stone Age has released a new single, ‘Insignificant Other’, which serves as a precursor to their upcoming ninth studio album, ‘Perfecth’. The track features a vintage-organ groove, marking a stylistic shift toward a smoother, more cinematic sound compared to their earlier desert-rock and garage-rock works.
In a recent appearance on the ‘Queer the Music’ podcast, frontman Josh Homme discussed how his musical foundations were shaped by polka. Homme revealed that due to a lack of rock guitar instructors in Palm Desert, California, he studied under polka musician Tom Polonsky for two years. He credited these lessons with influencing the rhythmic structure of the band’s 2002 hit ‘No One Knows’.
