Queens of the Stone Age release ninth studio album Perfecth
Queens of the Stone Age have released their ninth studio album, titled ‘Perfecth’. The record marks a stylistic shift for the band, moving toward a quieter, more melodic, and experimental sound compared to their traditional heavy, fuzz-filled alternative rock roots.
Frontman Josh Homme described the album title as an intentional misspelling of ‘perfect,’ symbolizing the broken pieces of his personal life that have begun to repair. The tracks explore themes of love, loss, anxiety, and healing, following a period of significant personal challenges for Homme, including a divorce and a battle with cancer.
At 36 minutes, ‘Perfecth’ is the band’s shortest and leanest album to date. It features tracks such as ‘Insignificant Other,’ ‘It’s Only Love,’ and ‘Where the Goth Girls At?’, blending smudged melodies with misshapen guitars.
