Queens of the Stone Age release ninth studio album Perfecth
Queens of the Stone Age has released their ninth studio album, titled Perfecth, via Matador Records. Led by frontman Josh Homme, the band explores themes of love, heartbreak, and personal reconstruction through nine tracks.
The album’s concept is inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which involves repairing broken ceramics with gold to highlight imperfections rather than hiding them. This philosophy reflects Homme’s personal experiences, including his health battles and recent life changes. Musically, the record marks a shift from the band’s traditional heavy stoner rock toward a more mature, reflective, and varied sound, incorporating acoustic guitars, orchestral arrangements, and psychedelic elements.
Recorded in locations including Los Angeles and New Orleans, the album features tracks such as “Insignificant Other,” “Easy Street,” and “It’s Only Love.” The band is also planning an international tour to support the new release.
