Queens of the Stone Age releases new single ‘Where the Goth Girls At?’
Queens of the Stone Age has released ‘Where the Goth Girls At?’, the third single from their upcoming ninth studio album, ‘Perfecth’. The album is scheduled for release on October 30 via Matador Records.
The track blends minimalist riffs with an expansive chorus, featuring string and brass arrangements. Lead singer Josh Homme noted that the song was inspired by his adolescence in Palm Desert, specifically recalling gothic girls working at a JCPenney counter.
A music video directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski accompanies the single. Filmed in a deserted power plant, the video features band members and a visual theme of character transformation. The upcoming album, produced by Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, uses the Japanese concept of Kintsugi as a metaphor for exploring love and the marks left by relationships.
