Queensland Government invests in aviation and agricultural technology
The Queensland Government has announced significant investments in both the aviation and agricultural technology sectors.
Aviation Australia has been awarded $3 million through the Sovereign Industry Development Fund. This funding, part of a $6 million co-investment, will be used to develop advanced aviation and Defence training capabilities in Townsville. The project focuses on next-generation rotary maintenance, simulation, and virtual training solutions to address the increasing complexity of modern aviation platforms.
In the agricultural sector, Queensland-based biotechnology company Nbryo has received a $2 million investment from the State Government’s Sowing the Seeds of Farming Innovation Fund. The investment aims to accelerate the development of technology designed to reduce the timeline of selective cattle breeding from seven years to seven days. This technology is intended to improve access to superior livestock genetics, thereby reducing production costs and increasing productivity for beef and dairy producers.
