Queensland LNP government faces declining voter support on housing and crime

Recent polling from the Resolve Political Monitor indicates declining voter satisfaction with the Queensland LNP government led by Premier David Crisafulli. As the government approaches the midpoint of its term, housing and crime have emerged as significant political risks.

Voter sentiment regarding housing has dropped to 22 per cent, down from 31 per cent a year ago. Similarly, approval regarding crime has fallen from 45 per cent to 37 per cent. These are the only two policy areas where the balance of public opinion has turned negative.

The government is currently preparing to tighten youth justice bail laws and implement remote sentencing. While the LNP's primary vote has remained steady above 30 per cent, the Labor opposition under Steven Miles has seen support languish in the mid-to-high 20s.
