Queensland Police seize 3D-printed gun mimicking toy

Queensland Police seized a pink, 3D-printed firearm designed to resemble a popular children’s toy during a raid on a home in Augustine Heights, south of Brisbane. Along with the weapon, officers recovered ammunition, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

A 38-year-old woman from Springfield Lakes was taken into custody and charged with 11 offences, including possession of a category D/H/R weapon and four counts of possessing dangerous drugs. She is scheduled to appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court on October 7.

Senior Sergeant Michelle Blaney noted that the seizure reflects a growing trend of illegal at-home firearms production. Police warned that these devices are increasingly accessible and allow offenders to conceal weapons in forms that do not resemble traditional firearms.
