The study investigates how the film adapts a 16th-century inquisitorial case regarding sodomy to explore themes of sexuality, audiovisual language, and memory. It analyzes the work as an early manifestation of artistic practices aimed at subverting heteronormativity during the period of military dictatorship and social conservatism in Brazil.
