Quentin Tarantino surprises AFI Fest with Cliff Booth footage

At the 40th annual AFI Fest in Los Angeles, filmmaker Quentin Tarantino surprised audiences at the TCL Chinese Theatre by screening the first 17 minutes of his upcoming film, ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth’. The surprise occurred following an IMAX screening and Q&A session for his 2019 film, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.

Tarantino wrote the screenplay for the new project, which is directed by David Fincher. The film features Brad Pitt reprising his Oscar-winning role as Cliff Booth. Set in 1977, eight years after the original film's events, the story follows Booth as he transitions from a stuntman to a Hollywood fixer and projectionist at the New Beverly Cinema.

The production includes a cast featuring Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller. The film is scheduled for a global IMAX theatrical release on November 25, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
