Quequén 172nd Anniversary Celebrations Postponed Due to Rain

The town of Quequén marked its 172nd anniversary on 3 August with a formal ceremony in Plaza de los Niños, led by Mayor Arturo Rojas. The event highlighted the community’s fishing heritage, ongoing coastal erosion concerns, and the municipal energy‑rehabilitation project.

Popular festivities that had been scheduled for the weekend of 8‑9 August at Plaza Hipólito Yrigoyen were suspended after the municipal government of Necochea warned of adverse rain forecasts. Officials said the postponement was necessary for public safety and announced that the celebrations will be reprogrammed for a later date, with a new schedule to be communicated to residents.
