Quequén arrests linked to gender‑based violence and femicide

In Quequén, a town in Necochea, Argentina, police discovered the body of an 86‑year‑old woman on June 19 in a residence on Calle 548‑1000. Responding to a 911 call, officers found a man wielding a shovel outside the home, arrested him at the scene and later identified him as the victim’s son, suspecting femicide.

Two days later, on June 21, police detained a 22‑year‑old man in the same town on charges of gender‑based violence, including disobedience of a judicial order and aggravated light injuries.
