Querétaro announces free Independence Day concerts

Governor Mauricio Kuri has announced the lineup for the free Independence Day celebrations taking place on September 15 in the Historic Center of Querétaro. The festivities will feature major musical performances distributed across two primary locations.

Pedro Fernández and local musician Gerardo Urquiza are scheduled to perform at Jardín Zenea. Meanwhile, the pop group Matisse will perform at Plaza de Armas, accompanied by a local Juan Gabriel impersonator. The celebrations will culminate with the traditional ‘Grito de Independencia’ ceremony at the Government Palace.

Authorities are preparing security and mobility operations to manage the expected crowds. Specific performance schedules, road closures, and detailed security measures will be released in the coming days. The state also highlighted the ‘Alerta Matías’ emergency notification system for attendees.
