Querétaro authorities investigate notary links following arrest of Roberto “N”

The Querétaro State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has formally linked Roberto “N”, known as “El Notario”, to a criminal process for aggravated generic fraud. The charges stem from an incident where the defendant allegedly accepted money from an elderly woman to manage the deed registration for a property in Tierra Blanca, El Marqués, a process he failed to complete.

Following his arrest in the Plazas del Sol neighborhood, a judge ordered justified preventive detention due to risks of flight, obstruction of justice, and potential harm to the victim. A one-month period for complementary investigation has been established.

Prosecutor Víctor Antonio de Jesús Hernández stated that the investigation will expand to include various notary offices in the capital. Authorities aim to determine the extent of knowledge held by the notaries with whom Roberto “N” worked, as the defendant is a lawyer who offered services linked to notary functions. The FGE noted that this is not an isolated case, as the individual has been linked to similar investigations and previous legal proceedings in the past.
