Querétaro authorities launch tripartite commission and educational partnerships
The government of Querétaro, Mexico, has initiated several measures to promote regional stability and economic growth. Governor Mauricio Kuri González formally established the State Tripartite Commission, a body composed of government, business, and labor union representatives. The commission aims to coordinate actions regarding labor conditions, foster dialogue, and address challenges such as technological shifts and artificial intelligence.
During the installation of the commission, Tereso Medina Ramírez, general secretary of the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM), noted that the state has not recorded a labor conflict in over 40 years. The commission will serve as a space for consultation to balance the needs of unions for better wages and job security with the business sector's requirement for investment certainty and trained personnel.
In a separate effort to drive innovation, the Querétaro state government is strengthening its collaboration with Tecnológico de Monterrey. This partnership focuses on higher education and updating academic programs to enhance regional competitiveness and attract investment through a highly skilled workforce.
