Querétaro awards 145 international mobility scholarships to local youth

The Mayor of Querétaro, Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, has awarded 145 'Vive México' international mobility scholarships to local youth. These grants allow participants to engage in international volunteer workcamps in various countries for durations of approximately two to four weeks.

Through these programs, recipients collaborate with volunteers of different nationalities on social, cultural, environmental, and community impact projects. The initiative aims to broaden the perspectives of young people by exposing them to different realities and cultures, with the expectation that they will bring new knowledge and values back to their local communities in Querétaro.

Mayor Macías noted that only about one percent of youth in Mexico have the opportunity to experience living in another country. The program also includes a local volunteering component to ensure that the skills and experiences gained abroad are shared within the municipality.
