Querétaro begins highway 57 resurfacing; ramp project set for 2027
The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) delegate in Querétaro, Carlos García Villaseñor, announced that resurfacing of federal highway 57 will start on 1 June. The 60‑day night‑time operation, costing 40 million pesos, will run from 22:00 to 05:00 and is being carried out in cooperation with municipal authorities who will provide security.
The same official discussed a future braking ramp for the same road entry to the state capital. Three possible locations are being evaluated, and the ramp could cost up to 150 million pesos depending on design. Funding for the ramp will be budgeted next year, with construction planned for 2027.
