Querétaro breaks ground on International Police Training Academy

Querétaro has broken ground on the International Police Training Academy, a new facility designed to professionalize municipal, state, national, and international law enforcement officers. Located within the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) complex, the project covers 1,785 square meters and involves an investment exceeding 30 million pesos.

The academy aims to enhance police skills through practical training, experience exchange, and specialized instruction to improve risk identification and decision-making. Iován Elías Pérez Hernández, head of the SSC, emphasized that the center will help officers keep pace with evolving criminal phenomena that cross borders and utilize new technologies.

The project is a result of binational cooperation between the state of Querétaro and the United States. During the ceremony, Governor Mauricio Kuri González and U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson highlighted the importance of the center in strengthening security ties. Ambassador Johnson noted that the academy represents tangible action and resources intended to help combat cartels and terrorist groups.
