Querétaro breaks ground on International Police Training Academy
The International Police Training Academy has commenced construction in Querétaro, Mexico, following a groundbreaking ceremony on October 2. The project, led by Governor Mauricio Kuri González in collaboration with U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson, involves an investment exceeding 30 million pesos.
Located within the RHINO security complex, the academy aims to serve as a specialized training center for both national and international police forces. The curriculum is designed to enhance technical capabilities in detecting and intercepting drugs, weapons, illicit funds, and other forms of smuggling related to organized crime.
Beatriz Hernández Rojas, president of the local COPARMEX chapter, expressed support for the initiative, noting that professionalizing security forces is a significant public demand. She highlighted Querétaro’s reputation for the rule of law as a key factor in attracting investment and facilitating such large-scale international cooperation.
