Querétaro Congress reviews tow truck and transport service regulations

The Congress of Querétaro is currently reviewing four legislative initiatives concerning the Law of Auxiliary Public Transport Services, which include regulations for tow trucks and impound lots. During a session of the Sustainable Mobility and Transit Commission, Deputy Blanca Benítez Estrada urged officials to advance the discussion, noting that stakeholders in the cargo and towing sectors have requested updates on the legislative process.

Commission President Enrique Correa Sada reported that the proposals have been sent to the state's 18 municipalities to gather information regarding local challenges in auxiliary services and impound procedures. The commission is awaiting written responses from these municipalities to account for varying urban and rural conditions before drafting a formal report. The final project is also expected to incorporate input from the State of Querétaro Mobility Agency.

Additionally, the commission approved a motion urging the state Executive Power, through the Secretariat of Culture, to implement reading promotion policies at public transport stops and other mobility-related spaces to utilize passenger transit time for cultural engagement.
