Querétaro delivers 17 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Venezuela
The state government of Querétaro, through its Sistema Estatal de Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (SEDIF), transferred 17 metric tonnes of humanitarian assistance to the Venezuelan Embassy in Mexico. The aid, packed on 29 pallets, included non‑perishable food, canned goods, personal hygiene products, diapers, toilet paper, cleaning supplies and first‑aid materials, and was intended to help victims of the June 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela.
SEDIF director Óscar Gómez Niembro said the supplies were gathered from contributions by local companies, government agencies, schools and other organizations. The delivery was coordinated with the Office of Representation of the Querétaro State Government in Mexico City, led by Paloma Palacios González, and with the Mexican Army, which provided logistical support for the convoy that reached the embassy on 28 July 2026. SEDIF has previously organized similar aid efforts, such as after Hurricane Otis in Guerrero and for the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
