Querétaro expands office construction while businesses shift to home‑office during train works

About one‑third of the businesses located along Bernardo Quintana in Querétaro have moved to a portion of their operations to home‑office as the passenger‑train project proceeds. The Chamber of Commerce of Querétaro said the shift aims to reduce foot traffic, while suppliers receive special vehicle access and many restaurants are promoting delivery through digital platforms.

In the same period, Querétaro accounted for roughly 25% of all new office space starts in Mexico during the second quarter of 2026, amounting to about 4,500 m² and making the city the second‑largest market after Mexico City. Office rents in Querétaro rose 3.5% year‑on‑year to $16.40 per square metre per month, with the Juriquilla corridor posting the highest average price of $18.89. The growth comes as national office starts fell 39% amid a cautious investment climate.
