Querétaro Governor addresses bridge color controversy

Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González addressed the controversial use of maroon paint on the Bernardo Quintana railway bridge, which is being renovated as part of the Mexico-Querétaro passenger train project. Kuri stated that since the federal government and the Agrupamiento de Ingenieros 'Felipe Ángeles' are executing the work, they have the authority to choose the colors, but noted that citizens should ultimately decide if they approve of the aesthetic.

State officials emphasized that the local government's primary responsibility is to mitigate mobility issues caused by the federal construction. While the state proposed over 40 additional works totaling 8 billion pesos to support the project, federal authorities have currently only approved 28 works, with specific details still pending.

Additionally, the Mexican Army activated insurance following an incident where an excavator fell onto a wall in the Guadalupe Victoria neighborhood. The bridge works are projected to be completed by August 24, coinciding with the return to school.
